Social Justice:  Georgia Pourchot and Joan Darrah presented two proposals for Social Justice for Congregational approval:

1. That MVUC members approve its GA delegates to advocate that the upcoming General Assembly adopts the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" law as an Action of Immediate Witness (AIW).

2. That MVUC members endorse the UUA General Assembly's 2006 AIW, the Declaration of Peace Campaign, as follows: "We, members of Mount Vernon Unitarian Church of Alexandria, Virginia support the 2006 UUA General Assembly Resolution to Support individual and congregational participation in interfaith campaigns to end U.S. military involvement in Iraq; and Urge all Unitarian Universalists to promote increased support for U. S. military personnel, veterans and their families. "

Both proposals were approved.

Budget: Al Erickson presented the budget for 2007-2008. The projected expenses ($486,577) exceed projected income ($469,010). The BoT will make adjustments throughout the year.

Construction: Bill Clontz reported on behalf of the Construction Task Force that the licensing, permitting, and various county review processes are on schedule and doing well, and that the neighborhood association remains supportive of the project. In addition, the long delayed storm water management project, financed by the County, is now underway and will be completed in a couple of weeks. A combined effort is underway by the BoT, the Nexus Group, the Finance Committee and others to carefully examine our all our finances for the upcoming years; a part of that effort is to ensure we are ready to start the building as planned or to recommend a delay of a year or two if necessary to ensure we are fiscally sound when we begin obligating funds. That review should be complete in early Summer. We are all eager to move on with this, but we also want to be responsible in how we proceed.

Joanne closed with acknowledgments of the incoming and outgoing trustees and the meeting was adjourned.
