At the request of Karen Tyson, Al Robbert was appointed by the Board as a representative to UUs for Social Justice.
Joanne Masterson reported that the Capital Campaign was going quite well. Almost 200 people attended the canvass dinner. Over $1 million has been pledged so far.
Joanne Masterson and Karen Tyson discussed plans for cleaning up MVUC’s membership roster and dropping from the rolls those who do not wish to continue to be affiliated with MVUC.
Karen Tyson suggested that the Finance Committee needs to be reconstituted. Al Erickson is interested in being its chairman. Karen asked Doug MacCleery to work with Al to identify prospective members for the committee and assist in getting it going.
Joanne Masterson noted that the care of the front garden has been a problem. It was in disrepair until $300 was paid to a contractor to weed, mulch, and otherwise maintain it. She suggested that this practice be continued twice a year. The Property Committee will be given the file on this contract.
Karen Tyson discussed plans for the 2004-5 annual canvass and its connection to the capital campaign.
The Board received and discussed reports from the Minister, Director of Religious Education, Program Council Chair, Business Administrator and Treasurer.
