Purpose

The Social Justice Council exists to facilitate and coordinate social action projects and activities within Mt. Vernon Unitarian Church. As Unitarian Universalists we believe it a sacred obligation to work to better our world because we are the inheritors of a world made better by Unitarian Universalists and by others.

Make-up

The Social Justice Council is made up of the Our Larger World Coordinator, the chairpersons of all existing task forces, the chairperson of the Partner Church Committee, the Blood Drive Committee. Exofficio members are: the Parish Minister, the Religious Education Director, the Program Council Convener.

Meetings & Attendance

The Social Justice Council holds all meeting as open meetings meaning that all interested members and friends of Mt. Vernon Unitarian Church are welcome.

Meetings of the council will usually be held the first Thursday of each month, during the regular church year (September through June).
