Purpose

Recent legislation at the state and national levels, as well as court rulings and pharmaceutical practice, have been placing restrictions on women's access to abortion and birth control.

Social Context

Reproductive rights are fundamental to women's rights. These rights should be accorded to all women, in women, in America and the world. Every child should be a wanted child.

Religious Rationale

The inherent worth and dignity of every person; world community with liberty and justice for all; respect for the interdependent web of life. UU history of supporting human rights and equality for all.

Action Goals

  • Influence state and national legislation by lobbying representatives.
  • Educate the public, including youth, about threats to reproductive rights.
  • Encourage participation of men in choice and responsibility for their children.
  • Protect women from violence from partners or parents.
