Natural Playground
In the spring of 2007, members of the Mt. Vernon Unitarian Church and the Fort Hunt Preschool, whose classes are held in the Carriage House on weekday mornings, got together for a brainstorming session to design a new earth friendly and child friendly playground at MVUC. From that meeting, Nancy Striniske, Architect, of Early Space Designs, came up with a comprehensive plan for our Natural Playground. We bagan construction on some elements in the spring of 2008. Work continued in 2009. We will continue to improve the area as time, talent, and funds allow.The first proposal to the congregation was made in 2007 and you can read the proposal here.
